Good morning…

As we savor this Sabbath, we look at the remnants of the spiritual onion we have been exploring together. Our posts from this week are developing in us the art of living through the layers of life (touch the “Previous” link at the top of this post to review our morning messages). Whatever season is surrounding us, our soul is pushing through painful challenges to release into wholeness the multi-faceted gifts of God.

This morning, layer by layer, we will slowly un-peel one segment of Scripture. Please whisper each verse aloud, pausing to ponder each soulful question, as we unearth the glory of God within, among, and around us.

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Do I stop and see?

Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.

Do I look and learn?

They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them.

Do I lean back and listen?

Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.

Do I sense and savor the silent song?

In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth (Psalm 19:1-6, NIV).

Do I wait and wonder in God’s glorious warmth?
