journal-alone

Good morning…

Last Sunday after church, my overactive mind began to wonder, “What different types of tables exist in our world?” I know, quirky question, but stick in here with me.

I began to brainstorm a comprehensive list. Billiards table. Changing table. Breakfast table. Conference table. Coffee table. Folding table. Picnic table. Dinner table. Poker table. Negotiating table. Thanksgiving table. Freakishly obsessed, I asked my family members to join my fun. Head table. Kids table. Kitchen table. Periodic table. Side table. Ping pong table. Examining table. Chiropractor’s table. Tray table. Display table. Operating table. Water table. Card table. They added inspiration.

I began prayerfully pondering: “Is it possible that every table in our everyday lives is an altar set beautifully with the life-giving, eros energy of God?” After worship, I googled the song we sang before feasting at our common communion table. Throughout this week, I have been thrilled to fill our home with Ben Smith’s soothing voice, reminding again me, “Every Table Is an Altar.”

Now, it’s your turn to allow this music video to fill your home with God’s ever-presence. Each time we pull up to any type of table, we are sitting with God. With eros energy pulsing through us, we lift our voices: “Every stranger has a story, every story is being told by You. We are all children on a journey, Jesus only you can lead us through.”

And people will come from east and west, and from north and south, and they will sit down [and feast at the table] in the kingdom of God (Luke 13:29, AMP).

P.S. After enjoying this music video, you may feel compelled to revisit our posts from this week, messages bringing to life our eros-filled God.
