love

Good morning…

One line from yesterday’s poem returns to me now.

Even when lost in the dark
of the woods, no clear path to follow,
we reach to each other…

A friend reached out to me this week, sharing a devotional message. “I love this this morning,” she texted, simply.

At the Crossroads

God’s Message yet again: “Go stand at the crossroads and look around. Ask for directions to the old road, the tried-and-true road. Then take it. Discover the right route for your souls.” – JEREMIAH 6:16 MSG

There you are. Standing at a crossroad, wondering which would be the right way to turn, the path God would have you choose. Before you take another step, ask Him for the old path, the one that will lead to where He’d have you go.

For only upon His path will you find peace with Him, as well as His provision and protection. Walking His way, your soul will find its true rest.

So pray, asking God for wisdom and direction. Then dig deep into His Word. Believe He will show you the right road and then He will go before you, clearing any obstacles that may stand in your way.

Proverbs 8:2 (NLT) says that Wisdom “takes her stand at the crossroads,” directing her voice to those who encounter her upon the way. “You’ll only hear true and right words from my mouth; not one syllable will be twisted or skewed” (Proverbs 8:8 MSG), says she.

So when you have a decision to make, remember to stop. Stand still. Pray. Seek wisdom in God’s Word. And you will find the right road for your soul.

Right now, Lady Wisdom takes her stand at the crossroads of our lives. Wars rage inside and around us. We grieve the loss of loved ones. Many are recovering from devastating storms. We each are discerning our midterm votes. We are trying to find our way through addiction and depression, job loss and financial struggles, unexpected breakups and caretaking for the vulnerable. Feeling lost in the dark of the woods, no clear path to follow, we reach to each other and God reaches us.

Lady Wisdom stands with us at the crossroads of our lives. She clears her throat and projects her voice in Proverbs 8:32-34 (VOICE).

So now listen to me, my children:
those who live by my ways will find true happiness.
Pay attention to my guidance, dare to be wise,
        and don’t disregard my teachings.
The one who listens to me,
who carefully seeks me in everyday things
and delays action until my way is apparent, that one will find true happiness.

As we listen, we seek, we delay action at the crossroads, God’s way will become apparent and we will find true happiness on the right road for our souls.
