nature

Good morning…

A peaceful saying lives on this purple journal. “Nature does not hurry and yet everything is accomplished,” Lao Tzu wisely notices. Now I am drawn to change one letter. “Nature does not worry and yet everything is accomplished.” Worrying does not do any good; who here can claim to add even an hour to his life by worrying? (Matthew 6:27, VOICE). Might the same be true of hurrying?

When we find ourselves hurrying, might we stop to see a tree growing grounded and slow? God is accomplishing everything.

When we catch ourselves worrying, might we admire the sun and the moon offering just enough light? God is accomplishing everything.

We humans fit right into the regenerative rhythm of nature. For we are the product of His hand, heaven’s poetry etched on lives, created…to accomplish the good works God arranged long ago (Ephesians 2:10, VOICE).

No need to hurry. No time for worry. Day by day, year after year, God is accomplishing everything.
