Good morning…

Scary feelings. Scattered thoughts. Struggles strangle. We are overwhelmed.

Too many needs. Too many options. Too many expectations. We are overwhelmed.

Difficult decisions. Demanding deadlines. Depression descends. We are overwhelmed.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you (1 Peter 5:7, NIV). But God is invisible and God does not talk like us and God works in ways we do not understand. Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you (1 Peter 5:7, TPT). Our worries multiply like rabbits and our worries stick like velcro and if our worries are poured out, can they really be left? So, humble yourselves under God’s strong hand, and in his own good time he will lift you up. You can throw the whole weight of your anxieties upon him, for you are his personal concern (1 Peter 5:7, PHILLIPS). If we humble our selves and wait with all our weight, how will we ever get everything done?

God shifts our focus, from “us” to “me,” then from “me” to “him.” He cares for me. He always tenderly cares for me. God’s hand is strong, his timing is good, and I am his personal concern. I humbly cast. I pour it all out. Onto him I sink my whole weight. With God as my focus, feelings calm down. Thoughts turn wise. Needs are met. Old expectations shed. Decisions work out. Depression eventually lifts.

Cast your burden on the Lord [release it] and He will sustain and uphold you (Psalm 55:22, AMP).
