Good morning…
“I trust that God is at work in me. More and more, I feel His presence. Day by day, I sense God changing me, softening my heart.” She continued, “But trusting that God is also at work in other people, that’s my biggest challenge.”
By nature, we want to save and to fix, to make peace and to control. It is hard for us to “stay 100 feet back” from our loved ones, from our enemies, from our loved ones who sometimes feel like enemies. Is God really at work in this screaming, demanding toddler? Is God really at work in each non-church-going high school senior? Is God really at work in our addicted adult child? Is God really at work in that abusive ex-spouse? Is God really at work in the angry, grieving mom? We feel God tenderizing us, but can we trust that God is also tenderizing them?
God says, “Prayerfully hang back. Give Me space to work. Trust that I am the wise Savior. I am the competent Fixer. I am the active Peacemaker. I am the One in control of all spiritual transformation. I am in the process of making things new within you and within each person, loved ones, enemies, and loved ones who at times feel like enemies.”
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns (Philippians 1:6, NLT).
