Good morning…
This morning, I am privileged to preach at the little Log Cabin Church up the street. For their annual homecoming service, the congregation invites a community member to speak, and this year it’s me. This friendly, vibrant church has a rich, 107 year history, so this morning we will come home to these guiding questions: “Where have we been? Where are we now? Where do we sense God leading us next?”
Coming back home to the slower-paced season of summer, we as an online community have spent time pondering similar questions this week. Remembering back fondly. Drilling deep, right here and right now. Flowing wide into God’s unknown future. As we savor this Sabbath, let’s take a leisurely stroll, scrolling back through the past posts grounding us this week.
Jesus asked, “Are you starting to get a handle on all this?”
They answered, “Yes.”
He said, “Then you see how every student well-trained in God’s kingdom is like the owner of a general store who can put his hands on anything you need, old or new, exactly when you need it” (Matthew 13:51-52, MSG).
Day after day, week after week, year after year, together we-students-of-the-Spirit are becoming well-trained in the ways of God’s friendly, vibrant kingdom, as it expands on earth as it is in heaven.
