question-mark

Good morning…

“If you were a pancake,” the interviewer asked over the phone, “where would you be on the stack? Top? Middle? Bottom? Why?” Seriously. Our daughter, interviewing for a public relations position, was asked this quirky question.

With your brain scrambling to speak your own truth, “What would be your answer?”

questions

Once you have your own intuitive answer, I’ll tell you the different responses from around our dinner table.

Right away our daughter said to her potential employer, “I’d be the bottom pancake, because when the foundation is stable the whole stack stands strong.” Our family thought hers was a great answer. Then she turned the quirky question on us.

Our other daughter said, “I’d be the middle pancake.” When asked why she replied, “I have no idea.”

Our son jumped in, “I’d be the top pancake, because I would soak in all the syrup and be eaten up first.”

My husband responded, “I’d be the bottom pancake, because I’m used to carrying the weight of everything.”

“I’d definitely be the top pancake,” I said. “I love to breathe fresh air, look around, and enjoy the spacious world around me.”

Now I reflect the question back to you again, “If you were a pancake, where would you be in the stack and why?”

What does your answer reveal about you? What does your answer reveal about the God who made you uniquely, just this way, on purpose?

So always let his Word become like poetry written and fulfilled by your life! (James 1:22a, TPT).
