For Corinne, for you and for me, God is the ultimate Dream-giver. The LORD’s higher, healing ways generously overflow into our ordinary lives. This is how the Bible explains God’s life-giving process.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
“You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands” (Isaiah 55:8-12, NIV).
As we are nourished within the ecosystem of the LORD’s higher ways, we will go out in joy to be led forth in peace. The mountains and hills will burst into song before us and all the trees of the field will applaud God with us! For me, all of creation’s exuberant celebration is captured in Corinne’s funky photo.
As I write in this moment, I remember yesterday’s Scripture verse of the day from Biblegateway.com.
Attention, all! See the marvels of God! He plants flowers and trees all over the earth, bans war from pole to pole, breaks all the weapons across his knee. “Step out of the traffic! Take a long, loving look at me, your High God, above politics, above everything” (Psalm 46:10, MSG).
I am so grateful God’s healing ways are higher than our human ways. Moment by moment, will you step out of the traffic with me to take a long, loving look at our generous God, who is organically at work high above everyone and everything?
