door

Good morning…

“Listen! I am standing and knocking at your door. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and we will eat together,” whispers Jesus in Revelation 3:20 (CEV).

Listen.

Hear.

Open.

“Come in.”

We will eat together.

“I am reminded me of what The Reverend John Stott had to say about the impact Revelation 3:20 had on him as a young man,” shared one reader.

“Here, then, is the crucial question which we have been leading up to. Have we ever opened our door to Christ? Have we ever invited him in? This was exactly the question which I needed to have put to me. For, intellectually speaking, I had believed in Jesus all my life, on the other side of the door. I had regularly struggled to say my prayers through the keyhole. I had even pushed pennies under the door in a vain attempt to pacify him. I had been baptized, yes, and confirmed as well. I went to church, read my Bible, had high ideals, and tried to be good and do good. But all the time, often without realizing it, I was holding Christ at arm’s length, and keeping him outside. I knew that to open the door might have momentous consequences. I am profoundly grateful to him for enabling me to open the door. Looking back now over more than 50 years, I realize that that simple step has changed the entire direction, course and quality of my life.”

If you hear the voice of Christ, might you also open the door?

My own experience echos John’s story. Listening, hearing, opening the door of my heart to Christ, that simple step has changed the entire direction, course and quality of my life. For He is our God and we are His people, the flock of His pasture, His sheep protected and nurtured by His hand.

Today, if He speaks, hear His voice. “Don’t harden your hearts…” (Psalm 95:7-8a, VOICE).

P.S. Just one short week away, we are offering a final invitation to our Awake To Wholeness Women’s Retreat. Kitty Crenshaw, co-author of The Hidden Life Awakened, extends to us God’s invitation today.

Hi All,

We are all so excited to try a whole new thing on Saturday, November 6! Covid has presented us with the opportunity and challenge of sharing Betty Skinner’s healing journey in an expanded, inventive, and safe retreat format that will retain and prayerfully enhance the intimacy of being together in community. Thankfully, the AV staff at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta is already brilliant at offering the highest quality live-streamed learning and is more than ready for the challenge.

Please join us on retreat from 9 to 2:30 in whatever way suits you. You can choose to be immersed in Betty’s healing story, neuroplasticity training, experiential learning, and live contemplative music in sacred solitude or in the company of a few friends at the church or in the comfort of your living room. It will be a wonderful new thing!

We can’t wait to be with you!
Kitty, Cathy, Sue, and Dana
