Good morning…
Snapping this interesting photo on our hike yesterday, I thought “Creativity bonds us.” Then, I thought back on an email I received earlier in the morning.
“Hi,” wrote a friend. “I enjoyed the video about the 87 year old woman who composed a piano piece while grieving the loss of her husband. Before opening your message this morning, I was reading The Hidden Life, Awakened, and the following words jumped out at me.”
The wondrous reality
is that you are a
marvelous spiritual being
freely embodied
with
the Holy Spirit
and
the power
to transcend yourself
and perform miraculous acts
of love
and courage
and creativity.

“Love, courage, and creativity! Amen to that!” she wrote. “As I look back over the last five years since my husband’s heaven date, the Holy Spirit has guided me to love more, to act with courage, and to seek creativity. For me, living courageously is the hardest. Not surprisingly, the image of you asking me, ‘What I am afraid of?’ is still very clear. At the time I was afraid of change and the unknown, yet, how can I remain fearful when the Holy Spirit is right beside me?!”
She concluded. “I hope you are enjoying time with your dear friend, and I look forward to catching up when we return from our travels later this summer!”
This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?”
God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance!
We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with him! (Romans 8:14-17, MSG).
This morning, will you join me in a creatively expectant, “What’s next, Papa?”
