Good morning…
Most every day, I walk the sidewalk pictured above. One day, no leaves. The next day, a ton. What a silent, visual truth: The neighborhood trees, just like you and me, are altered by the rainstorms of life.
As I have been trying to “obey my muddle clear” this week, I enjoyed lunch with an old, loyal friend.
“To meet the needs of others, we don’t give up our own needs,” she wisely said. “We just learn how to juggle. God wants to walk with us through the muddle. Over time, some things just fall by the wayside, and we see more clearly.”
I thought back on the leave-strew sidewalk. Sometimes some things just fall off, exposing bare limbs, revealing the big sky. Altered by God in the rainstorms of life, we see more clearly.
For now, we can only see a dim and blurry picture of things, as when we stare into polished metal. I realize that everything I know is only part of the big picture. But one day, when Jesus arrives, we will see clearly, face-to-face. In that day, I will fully know just as I have been wholly known by God (1 Corinthians 13:12, VOICE).
