Good morning…
After a crazy ten hour travel day for my seventy-five minute flight, my sister battled airport traffic to pick me up in Cleveland, Ohio. Happy to be together, we arrived around 11:00 pm at our parents’ independent living villa in their senior living community. With their teeth out and their jammies on, our parents hugged us hello before we all headed to bed.
During each visit, I sleep on my parents’ couch, so in the middle of the night I turned over and noticed the photo of my sister holding her youngest son as a toddler on one of our family beach vacations, a photo my husband and I had printed on the blanket for my parents many Christmases ago. My sister’s son, the youngest of my parents’ twelve grandkids, is now a senior in high school. Amazing how time flies.

Also on their couch is a pillow we made for my parents, a pillow with our son’s infant handprints and the handwritten words, “Kyler was here.” Kyler, our oldest, is now thirty, married and expecting their own first baby boy this May. Time truly flies when we’re having fun.
It is fun to wake to snow on the ground, fun to help our parents get their $39 tree from Costco, and fun to take a photo for their Christmas card this year.

No one knows what the future holds, but we know who holds our future. We are each held by the same powerful God who has carried us through our past, the same loving God who is unfolding everlasting life, generation after generation.
The Eternal’s purposes will last to the end of time; the thoughts of His heart will awaken and stir all generations (Psalm 33:11, VOICE).
How fun it is to witness with our parents the unfolding of God’s eternal purposes.
…Sue…
