Good morning…
“Red sky at night, sailor’s delight. Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning.” This old adage came to mind as I looked south over the city of Atlanta yesterday morning. Even from a distance, I could tell it was going to be a doozie of a day.
Sure enough. Computer concerns. Internet issues. Reworking yesterday’s post so it worked more smoothly. Peeing and poohing our puppy at the perfect time, allowing for me to leave the house for a four hour block. And all of this before I got caught in the crowded congestion heading to the church for our early 8:30 fitness class. I snapped a photo in traffic then texted a friend, “If the way clears before us, a puppy play date would be fun. Lots of miles of commitments to cover before 4:00 pm, but I am hopeful that God might blaze a path through the overgrowth.”
The play date never happened, but other special things did.

“Ponder the path of your feet. And let all your ways be ordered aright,” says Proverbs 4:26 (RGT).
When I pondered my congested path, I let the Lord order my day. God added music, ministry and movement. Precious people, a prayer chapel visit and gathering a trunkful of PAWkids donations. A home visit to Martha’s 70th birthday painting with Gina the artist, our peaceful brunch at The Daily and her much needed computer assistance. A late, late lunch in bed with a friend recovering from major surgery (time joyfully evaporated), a big grocery shop on my way back home through more traffic, and a quick catch up on headline news. Remembering those murdered. Financial woes for many. False hopes for peace with Putin. (The daily news always adds to my long prayer list.)
At nightfall, I rested beside our little nativity, pondering again my doozie of a day. The red sky in the morning gradually dissipated, fading freely into a silent night.
Now, let’s enjoy listening to Amy Grant, who was also caught in the congestion of this crowed season, until the Lord cleared a way for us all.
