Good morning…
Yesterday morning, I was expecting the highly anticipated Blood Moon effect of a total lunar eclipse, so I woke when it was predicted to be at peak. Instead of seeing the full moon mysteriously turn red, I saw clouds.
Grey. Dense. Blinding clouds.
“What a disappointment!” said the body language of our twelve year old dog, Gracie.

Yet, our disappointment turned to divine awe just fifteen hours later. The full moon returned to illuminate clear skies, before sneaking into our living room to paint unique beauty, all over everything.

Amid the invisible transformation of passing time and humble acceptance, the disappointing day turned into a divine night. In the middle of it all, my friend sent me this devotional message.

God, our God, is always at work. Clearing. Expanding. Creating beauty in our darkness.
“It reminds me of this verse I had put on pillow resting on our bed,” said my friend. “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8.”
As we dwell in the safety only God can provide, all will be well over time. Devastating disappointment morphs into divine awe, as we relax into God’s eternal care.
