owl

Good morning…

Blogging most days for eleven years, I have been trained to glimpse God in everyday life. People in our written word community have honed a similar awareness. Subscribers often send me pictures or stories, quotes or songs, insights or occurrences revealing the presence of our God-with-us God.

Yesterday, my neighbor sent me the photo above, a photo of a daytime owl sighted on the way to the horse farm nearby. “I felt like you were the friend that would appreciate it the most,” she texted, knowing that I might also share it in a blog. She did a little research and discovered these fresh findings.

Following a nine-day pause in our blog due to technical difficulties, hidden truths are now surfacing and clarity is slowly growing. As June creeps along, we are being asked to slow down, to trust our inner instincts. Individually and collectively, we are in the midst of profound transition. Wisdom and spiritual guidance are given by God, day after day, night after night.

“How well are you listening?” quietly blinks the daytime owl.

A day will come when the wolf will live peacefully beside the wobbly-kneed lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat; The calf and yearling, newborn and slow, will rest secure with the lion; and a little child will tend them all (Isaiah 11:6, VOICE).
