beauty

Good morning…

“Some of the most beautiful parts of who you are were born from things you never would have chosen,” whisper the colorful layers of this lovely landscape.

This image follows the flow of a paragraph we read this week on page 74 of Waking Up to This Day by Paula D’Arcy.

“The Spirit is an indescribable force of love,” explains Paula. “This love asks many things of us. At the time of my losses it asked me to live for a long time without any answers and with great mystery. It asked me to find hope even in the absence of innocence. It asked me to believe that a stronger love would emerge from me…stronger and deeper, not in spite of my losses but because of them. Stronger, because love deepens as it passes through pain.”

What losses come to mind as you consider this truth? “Some of the most beautiful parts of who you are were born from things you never would have chosen.”

By enduring all of these things, you will find not loss but gain—not death but authentic life (Luke 21:19, VOICE).
