learning

“Morning my friends!”

A dear friend texted two of us yesterday morning. “Thank you for the loving, supportive, tenacious way you embody this paradox – wise words from the amazing Suleika Jaouad!”

Living

means learning

to hold

the astonishingly beautiful

and

unbearably hard things

in the same palm.

In the process of living, we experience the powerful paradox of opposites, really beautiful things coexisting with really hard things.

With God’s help, might we learn to embody it all?

I’m not there yet, nor have I become perfect; but I am charging on to gain anything and everything the Anointed One, Jesus, has in store for me—and nothing will stand in my way because He has grabbed me and won’t let me go (Philippians 3:12, VOICE).

As you open you palm this Friday morning in fall, what “astonishingly beautiful things” and “unbearably hard things” do you hold side-by-side?
