Good morning…
Twenty-five years ago, our son Jeremiah was born on June 5th in Atlanta, Georgia. Two weeks later, our family was transplanted to New Wilmington, Pennsylvania with our youngest and his siblings ages 2, 4, and 6. Three months later, the terrorist attacks of September 11th shocked our nation. At the time, Jeremiah was the same age as our first grandson is now, three month old Charlie.

What a sacred blessing to watch life cycle around again, our oldest son Kyler now a father. All of those who lost their lives on 9/11 were severed from the luxury of living on into future generations. Collectively, we continue to mourn this monumental loss.
Our own family tree has experienced resilient growth since September 11th, 2001, much like the “Survivor Tree” currently thriving at Ground Zero. A severely damaged pear tree was removed from the rubble at the World Trade Center, was nursed through its recovery, and was returned to its original home in 2010. New, smooth limbs shoot up from the rugged, gnarled stumps, creating a visible demarcation between the tree’s past and her present.
On this 25th anniversary of the devastating tragedy, might we watch this touching video and ponder our own resilient growth over this quarter of a century?
Remember that you are still only a branch. You do not make the root strong. No, it is the root that holds you up and makes you strong (Romans 11:18b, EASY).
