Good morning…

I took this photo while visiting Grayton Beach, Florida in August of 2021. This particular sunset was the most memorable I have ever experienced. So, when our friend Corinne Adams sent me photos from the same beach this week, I could feel God’s multi-faceted expression.

“All within an hour!” Corinne shared her delight along with these images. “God is so good.”

The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.

– Psalm 19:1-4a, NIV

The skies offer equal access to the rich and the poor, the lonely and the anxious, the young and the old. We are all welcome to step outside. Look up. Listen. Fresh knowledge is being revealed day and night, proclaiming the glory of our living LORD. The silent speech of the changing skies reminds me of the Nouwen quote we uncovered in our Summer Zoom Study this week: “Much can be said without much being spoken.”

In these sacred, silent moments, what might the God of our universe be saying to you, personally?
