Good morning…

A soulmate subscriber, whom I have never met, sent me two quotes in response to my blog post yesterday.

First she shared this truth: “Listening is the highest form of love.” I adore this sentence! What wise encouragement. When we attentively listen we are actively loving.

Next she quoted Bill Bullard: “Opinion is really the lowest form of human knowledge. It requires no accountability, no understanding. The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another person’s world. It requires profound purpose larger than the self kind of understanding.”

Right now God’s Spirit adds another wise Word: Therefore become imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father]; and walk continually in love [that is, value one another—practice empathy and compassion, unselfishly seeking the best for others… (Ephesians 5:1-2a, AMP).

This holiday season, might we quiet our opinions, listen lovingly, and practice empathy and compassion, unselfishly seeking the best for others?
