Good morning…
As we learn to see the larger and deeper grace cushioning life’s harsher blows, we allow the Spirit’s teachings to take deeper root in us. When the power of the Eternal assumes center stage in our daily lives, the veil between earth and heaven gradually thins.
“I love this sentence of yours…” a friend wrote after last Friday’s post. “I truly believe God’s eternal promise is extended to our dogs. And I truly believe it as well! My husband asked our pastor and friend if our dogs would be in heaven, and he said with a grin, “Everything YOU need to be happy will be in Heaven.”
“Yes, I do believe our dogs are in Heaven,” another loyal friend wrote.
Another simply responded, “I believe too…”
Another reader wrote: “It is soooo hard to lose a pet. They are a family member, and the grief is heart-breaking. I believe I will see my beloved Jack Russel terrier, Lady, when my time comes.”
I believe our nine year old golden mix, Tate, will be in heaven when I arrive. I got a whiff of that experience as I picked up our puppy Cami from the vet after she was spayed. They had us meet in the same room where we said our goodbyes to Tate in June. Before leaving, I looked up and saw this image on the computer. And every day when I take a bath, I am reminded of the eternal nature of our precious pets.

As I was finishing the final details of this post, a Holy Spirit thing happened.
At the perfect moment, movies of photos from over the years mysteriously filtered into my phone, reel after reel of images including Tate and our little 12 year old dog Gracie. So many memorable pictures, taken in so many fun places over the years. Through this overwhelmingly gracious gesture, God’s confirmation appeared at the exact right time.
I felt a full hearted, “YES!” Tate’s presence is with me now, and I will certainly hug her big, fluffy soul again in heaven someday.
But You, Eternal One, wrap around me like an impenetrable shield. You give me glory and lift my eyes up to the heavens (Psalm 3:3, VOICE).
…Sue…
