Good morning…
Tonight’s first full moon of the summer will peak at 7:57 pm. It’s called the Strawberry Moon, referring to the fact that strawberries typically ripen and are ready around this time of the year, according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac. As I am learning to discern distinctions in the dark, the moon appears full to our naked eyes the night before and the night after any full moon appears.
So last night as I walked our puppy Cami to the horse farm around 9:00 pm, I knew the moon would look full, but I could not see it behind all the trees. Then I got to a clearing and viola! There it was. Big. Bright. Beautiful.
As we walked, I was texting with two friends. One had reached out for urgent prayers after a medical emergency with her aging dad. They had received conflicting messages from the doctors, but by morning she and her mom needed to decide “surgery or no surgery?”
“We don’t know,” she reached out for support. “We need God to tell us. Please pray that He does. Thank you both.”
After our other friend responded with kind, encouraging words, I sent the photo above. We know that God’s answer is out there, but sometimes clarity is blocked from our view, until we happen upon a clearing and voila! There it is. Calm. Complete. Comforting.
“I am praying that God fills you full with the light of his presence,” I texted along with the picture. “Just now the moon came into view with complete clarity. That’s what I pray happens for you and your mom as you rest through the night. Amid all the overgrowth of conflicting opinions, I pray for a clear view of God’s answer, full and undeniable.”
“Praying for that clarity to come to the doctors and to me with the sunrise,” she replied. “Thank you for being my faithful prayer warriors. The picture is so peaceful. It’s helpful as I try to go to sleep.

“Here are the two of us putting our hearts together, praying for you deeply, my friend,” I said.
“I LOVE that and can FEEL IT!” came her response.

“God’s will grows up between this and that,” I sent another image. “I remember the statement from our recent blog post: ‘Option A, B, C, and D. Lord, anything you choose is alright with me.'”
The Eternal One illuminates the shadows of our not knowing. We rest secure, trusting that God’s knowledge is as whole as tonight’s full moon.

The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest (Exodus 14:14, AMPC).
Options A, B, C, or D? God’s clear answer is what shall be.
